Picnic and recreation areas in the Alto Tajo
The Alto Tajo has dozens of recreation areas scattered through pine forests, riverbanks, and scenic landmarks: spaces with tables, fountains, and sometimes barbecue facilities designed for outdoor dining and resting. The use of fire is regulated and strictly prohibited during wildfire risk seasons.
Recreation areas offer the simplest way to enjoy the Natural Park: park your vehicle, walk a few paces, and eat in the cool shade. Many are located beside rivers, springs, or trailheads.
Leave the site better than you found it
Always carry your litter out, even if bins are full: in the mountains, rubbish attracts wildlife and ends up in the river.
