A shared community woodland
Five highland villages of the Serranía have managed this wooded estate jointly since 1952: Beteta, El Tobar, Masegosa, Lagunaseca, and Santa María del Val. It functions as an active public forest yield, producing sustainable timber, grazing pasture, black truffles, and regulated hunting.
Exploring the dehesa
From the Puente del Martinete bridge, a marked footpath winds through the woodland. Its shaded northern slopes can also be viewed from Mirador Pie Molino, across the Tagus River.
