From ruins to museum
In Luzón, in the northern comarca, the old village school stood in ruins. Following five years of local work, it was transformed into the School Museum, which opened in 2009.
The classroom
Later, a recreated classroom was inaugurated as it looked around 1950: timber desks, period textbooks, blackboard, and maps. These are objects of shared memory for an entire generation that learned to read beside a wood-burning stove with a single textbook for all subjects. The museum also hosts temporary exhibitions.
Luzón
The village is renowned for its Diablos, one of the oldest winter masquerade traditions in Spain, and marks the end of the Tajuña gorges arriving from Anguita.
