A narrow gorge on the Mesa

Beside Villel de Mesa, the Mesa River squeezes between rock walls, forming a small gorge with a waterfall and remarkably clear turquoise pools. This is Pozo Galeano, which also appears on maps as Pozo del Galano.

How to get there

Park beside the municipal swimming pools of Villel and follow the riverside footpath, which has a wooden railing on the water side along its final stretch. It is a short, easy walk.

When to go

In summer it is a cool escape from the heat; in spring, with higher water flow, the waterfall looks at its best. The Mesa valley can be explored further at the castle of Villel and the Tormo de Mochales.
