Sanctuary of La Concepción in Cillas, Meeting Place of the Sexma del Campo
The sanctuary of La Concepción, near Cillas (Rueda de la Sierra) beside the Alhama de Aragón road, is a modest 18th-century structure with older origins. Tradition holds it as the successor to the parish church of a deserted medieval village. It was the gathering place for council representatives of the Sexma del Campo. A baroque pairón stands along the way.

A sanctuary of the Sexma
In the territory of Cillas, a hamlet of Rueda de la Sierra, and near the road to Alhama de Aragón, stands the sanctuary or hermitage of La Concepción. The current building is a very simple work of the 18th century, but its origin is earlier. A tradition relates that it already existed at the time of the resettlement as the parish church of a village that was deserted in the 16th century.
Where the Campo gathered
Its significance is more historical than artistic. In the sanctuary, representatives of the councils of the Sexma del Campo, one of the four districts of the Tierra de Molina, met to address their common affairs before the Community. It is the same logic of justice and community self-government recounted in a year in a mountain village.
The pairón
Beside the road stands a pairón with baroque decoration, with a niche for the statue of the Virgin and a pyramidal finial with a sphere.
