The repopulation bridge
In Molina de Aragón, the Puente Viejo crosses the Gallo River, linking the San Francisco suburb—where the old convent now housing the museum stands—with the historic town. It was built between the 12th and 13th centuries, when the town was being resettled.
Red stone
It is built entirely of local red sandstone, giving it an unmistakable warm tone. It features three segmental arches, the central one wider, a typical medieval design for rivers subject to sudden spates. The piers have sturdy cutwaters with flood openings.
Walking route
From the bridge, a riverside promenade leads into the historic Jewish and Moorish quarters. See the historic centre of Molina.
