A tree with its own name

It is a Pinus sylvestris (Scots pine), standing about 23 metres tall with a base girth of nearly 4 metres. It used to branch into seven thick limbs, the “claws” (garras).

A fragile giant

One of the limbs died and had to be cut away, and another of the six surviving branches is now also dead. It serves as a reminder of how vulnerable old trees can be. Please view it without climbing into the branches or trampling the soil around its base, where the root zone lies. Located in Orea.
