Torre de Doña Blanca (Taravilla): Watchtower Over the Cabrillas
The Torre de Doña Blanca stands on an almost inaccessible promontory where the Cabrillas river joins the Tagus, in Taravilla. Ruins remain of what seems to be a Celtiberian hillfort, later reused as a medieval watchtower. Its name honours Doña Blanca de Molina, who kept a hunting forest here and upon her death bequeathed nearly all of Taravilla's land as communal pasture.

The lady and her forest
Taravilla was a hamlet of the Común Molinés from the resettlement, and Doña Blanca de Molina had a special fondness for this corner. Beside the Cabrillas river she had a hunting forest where, it appears, a palace house was built where she spent short seasons. Upon her death she left practically the entire territory as communal dehesa for the Council.
The tower
On an elevated and almost inaccessible promontory, right where the Cabrillas joins the Tagus, ruins are still visible that seem to belong to a Celtiberian hillfort, reused in the Middle Ages as a watchtower. It is near Taravilla.
