Waiting for an assault that never came

The pillbox overlooked the crossroads of the highways heading toward Alcolea del Pinar and Cifuentes. It was constructed to halt an anticipated Republican offensive that never reached this position. Its walls reflect that wartime vigil: defending a transit corridor with firing ports trained upon the access routes. It forms part of the historical narrative traced in the river front history.

Architectural structure

Despite weathering, the bunker preserves its triangular geometry constructed of thick reinforced concrete walls, equipped with embrasures at each corner designed for automatic weapons. Located in Saelices de la Sal.
