Chequilla bullring: an arena between stone towers
The Chequilla bullring is a natural amphitheatre formed by red sandstone towers surrounding a small grassy meadow that serves as the ring. Used since olden times with virtually no changes: the narrow gaps between rocks are simply closed with timber rails. Considered the only bullring of its kind in Spain.

An arena shaped by nature
The red sandstone towers that surround Chequilla form a nearly complete circle around a small grassy meadow. Villagers needed only to block the openings with wooden rails to create a bullring. It has been used this way for generations, with virtually no masonry intervention.
